At the beginning of the new millennium, the Neri family created this selection of Brunello di Montalcino, called Tenuta Nuova. This bottle contains a tribute to Sangiovese which is grown in the splendid setting of the Montalcino hill. An innovative project of a vineyard planted in a territory of Montalcino never experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and aging potential. The soil, the microclimate, and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surround the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional nature of the Tenuta Nuova terroir.
The 2016 vintage, as for most of Tuscany, is the perfect vintage for Sangiovese. The ripening of the grapes took place in a slow and constant way, also thanks to the considerable temperature variations between day and night in the days preceding the harvest which favored an almost perfect ripening of the grapes.
With this premise and the hand of the Blacks, the result is a Brunello di Montalcino that has hit the most important critics, confirming very high scores.
Our suggestion is certainly to buy this bottle to keep it in the cellar and wait for its evolution or increase in its value.
