Champagne Rosé Chaumont is a rosé fruit of blending 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the vineyards owned in Puisieulx.

Cuvée with 70% blanc de noirs of the vintage, 20% Vin de Reserve (always blanc de noirs) to which is added a 10% Pinot Noir vinified in red from the rows of best exposure.

Use of steel for the elaboration of the sparkling wine bases with malolactic fermentation entirely carried out. Stops on the yeasts for about 36 months and final dosage at disgorgement of about 8 g/litre.

Three Senses

A Rosé of great pleasantness, imprinted on the fruit. Extremely fine bubbles, it gives itself to the nose and in the mouth with notes of red fruit (wild strawberry). Round and very captivating palate, pleasant as an aperitif with small savoury appetizers but also at the table with raw salami of medium seasoning.

Francois Chaumont

Champagne Francois Chaumont

Francois Chaumont is the voice of the smallest Grand Cru in the Champagne region.

Puisieulx is a small village, with about 400 inhabitants, and is one of the 17 recognised Village Grand Crus of Champagne.

A small handkerchief of land with only 18 hectares of vineyards to its credit, squeezed between other famous names of the Montagne de Reims such as Verzenay, Ludes, Mailly, Sillery.

In Puisieulx Francois Chaumont has 5.5 hectares of vineyards; the most important Recoltant of the municipality, followed by Ruinart which here (on 2.5 hectares of property) harvests grapes for Dom Ruinart.

Pure chalk soil and south-east exposure are the added values of vineyards, pinot noir in clear prevalence, planted by the Chaumont family in the middle of the last century. An attentive and scrupulous "Vigneron", Francois follows the dictates of a reasoned viticulture close to organic, of which he is a supporter, beyond fashions and certifications.

Since 2008, thanks to the cellar equipment owned by his wife (Marie-Hélène Littière in Oeully, Vallèe de la Marne), Francois has been making his own wine at the heart of each of his harvests. A few bottles, just over 9,000 bottles a year for the only "single-Cru" claimed by Puisieulx. The main actor is the pinot noir, which here, in terms of fabric and nobility, has little to envy to that of others, more celebrated, his Grand Cru brothers (Bouzy and Ambonnany first and foremost).

Francois is an expert farmer and a passionate winemaker who practices sustainable agriculture. The skill with which he personally takes care of the vineyards leads him to a maniacal selection of the grapes.

A careful vinification, without too many frills but of extreme cleanliness, gives us back the full value of the best pinot noir of the Mountain of Reims. The wide taste-olfactory spectrum (notes of red fruit contrasted by marine and iodine sensations) represents the right compromise between those who want the pleasantness of drinking (roundness) and those who, on the contrary, seek more tension on the palate (sapidity).
