Corsica is one of the French regions that knows more about the sea and the Mediterranean than any other.
The Aocs are: Vin de Corse Coteaux du Cap Corse, Muscat du Cap Corse, Patrimonio, Calvi, Ajaccio, Sartène, Vin de Corse Figari, Porto Vecchio and Vin de Corse, while the most widely cultivated grape varieties are Grenache, Aleatico, Nielluccio, Barbarossa, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvedre, Syrah, Cargaghiolu e Morescone for the reds, while the whites include Vermentino, Carignan, Ugni Blanc, Biancu Gentile, Malvasia and Muscatellu.
