Rum XO 20th Anniversary Plantation

Maison Ferrand, a historic French manufacturer of Cognac, has always had a relationship with the Caribbean as a dealer for rum aging barrels. The decision to start with an own line takes place with the progressive discovery of some barrels of particular vintages, used to give style to industrial blends or for the internal consumption of the distillery. Noting the variety and refinement of these rums, the decision to bottle was completely natural. The Plantation Collection was born. For aging, it was decided to use a widespread technique in the 18th and 19th centuries and now almost disappeared: the 'double aging'. The distillates age for years in the warm climate of the Caribbean, in barrels of ex Bourbon. Once they have reached the right ripeness, they are sent straight to the Maison, near the Château de Bonbonnet, where the refinement continues in small French oak barrels to acquire elegance, refinement and roundness. The Xation 20th Anniversary version of Plantation is a blend of various rums aged for many years in the Caribbean and left to rest at the Château for a further 12 to 18 months.
