Rum Chairman Reserve
Chairman's Reserve Rum is the blended line created to honor the prestige of the island of Saint Lucia. Active since the 1930s, it found a moment of difficulty with the disappearance of sugar cane cultivation, when around the 1960s European beetroot brought cheap sugar to the tables of the old continent. Two distilleries then joined together in the wonderful Roseau valley, carrying out numerous lines of distillers, mainly pot and two column. The production continues from those years with the importation of molasses from the neighboring English Guyana, and from the agricultural distillation of local varieties of reeds still grown in the surroundings of the distillery. The choice of nectars in the hands of the best blenders is wide and allows for perfect bottling.
In production since 1999 with the intention of expressing the iconic character of island rums, it is a blend of rum distilled between coffey and pot and aged separately in ex-bourbon, with an additional 6 months in large wood after the blend. Average aging is 5 years.
