Champagne Pur Meunier Michel Littiere
The Pur Meunier Champagne is produced in purity from a unique 40 year old vineyard located in the heart of the village of Oeuilly and known as 'Les Galands'. It faces malolactic fermentation and stays on the lees for 30 months. Passing in barrique for only 20% of the mass, it is bottled with a dosage of 8 gr / l in the Brut version is perfect for any aperitif.
Unlike in the past, the custom of creating Champagne from the Pinot Meunier variety alone is becoming increasingly widespread today. Indeed, it has always been considered the little brother of Pinot Noir, but is now gradually taking its revenge.
The wide diffusion of this grape, especially in the Vallée de la Marne, is due to its high resistance to the frosts typical of this area. In addition to this we also have a high yield, about 10-15% more than Pinot Noir.
Michel Littiere
Michel Littiere is today a reality that can draw strength on the experience and dynamism of great Champagne winemakers. Michel already took care of the vineyards with his father, from whom he left in 1970 to give life to his vision and to found his own company. In 1991 his daughter Marie-Helene, fresh from his oenology studies, joined him, and since 2008 his husband who has been working his own vineyards in Puisieulx, one of the Grand Crus near Reims, has also been added.
Always 100% independent winemakers have managed to extract unique characteristics from their terroir, also thanks to the extreme fragmentation of the vineyards, divided into 25 plots for a total of 5.5 hectares. Located exclusively on the slopes of the Oeuilly hills, they are the perfect mix between the different exposures and soil compositions, capable of giving each vintage a wide spectrum of acidity and aromaticity from which to compose the perfect blend.
The grapes grown are the classics of champagne, but with a preference for Meunier which is typical of the Marne valley. Cultivated for years in a regime of reasoned struggle. As a family of Recoltants Manipolants, they are present in every phase of Champagne's life, from the vineyard to the bottle, combining modern technologies with profound respect for traditions at every stage of processing.
