Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva Misco Tenuta Tavignano 2013

The Verdicchio Riserva dei Castelli di Jesi DOCG Classico is made from a selection of Misco, so that it can evolve as best as possible over time. In fact, it is predisposed to long aging of well over ten years.

“Misco” is the ancient name of the Musone, the river towards which our vineyards slope: the “Vigneti di Tavignano”. But it is also the "Selection" of musts (free-run must), the product in which the company pays the greatest attention both in the harvesting phase, with the sorting of the grapes and manual collection in boxes, and in the mashing phase, with the soft pressing of whole grapes. This particular attention, which is aimed at the grapes both during harvesting and processing, has the aim of obtaining products with particular finesse, typicality and long shelf life. Misco is a wine of great personality and elegance.

Tenuta Tavignano enjoys 230 hectares of land of which 30 are dedicated to vineyards which are divided into two blocks: white grapes on the company side and red grapes on the sea side. The vineyards are cared for respecting the life cycle of the plants, creating biodiversity to make the soil healthy and rich in nutrients, pushing the plants towards total self-sufficiency and therefore naturalness.

For "Misco", for example, the selection of the grapes is very rigorous and the harvest takes place by hand to damage the plants as little as possible; the same care is taken in the pressing phase. This particular attention has the aim of obtaining products with particular finesse, typicality and long life.
