Cascina Feipu Dei Massaretti

Feipu Dei Massaretti

Liguria is a thin strip of land overlooking the sea, little land and lots of sea, which despite its impervious territory is rich in native vines of great value.
Producer of excellence of the Pigato wine is the Cascina Feipu of Massaretti which is located within the Ligurian Riviera di Ponente Pigato DOC.

The name Pigato probably derives from pigau or pigou which in the dialect of Albenga
indicates the rust stains distributed on the surface of the acinus, the pighe.

Founder in the 60s with his wife Bice of Cascina Feipu Massaretti of Bastia d'Albenga, now run by daughters and genders, pioneer and still among the most representative of Pigato production, known in Italy and internationally. After the successes obtained with Pigato Pippo, always supported by his wife Bice, he launched himself with courage and ability in the production of other Ligurian wines: Rossese and, in recent years, Granaccia. His desire to experiment, to always seek excellence, has often and successfully led him to produce new wines, such as the Bice and Pippo sweets made with raisins from Pigato and Rossese. Beside the success of his wines and his company, with vineyards on the splendid hill of Bastia d'Albenga, Pippo was proud of the unity of his family, his wife Bice, of course, but also his daughters Ivana and Brunella with their husbands Giovanni Battista Enrico and Mirco Mastroianni, current provincial president of the CIA. A family capable of producing great wines not only for the Italian market but also for the foreign one, the Pigato of the Casina Feipu of the Massaretti, in fact, is also known on the Japanese market. Small quantities, obviously, because Pippo did not like large quantities, he considered them enemies of quality.
