Julie Dufour
Julie Dufour, a Champagne producer in the Côte des Bar, returns to her native Landreville to take over the vineyards she inherited from her father. Julie lived many years in Paris but was drawn back by “a natural need to return to her roots,” as she puts it. She started out with only 4 hectares of vines, to which over time she added another 2 hectares of vines passed on by her brother Charles Dufour. she is the daughter of Francoise Martinot, also a winemaker as well as a pioneer of sustainable, organic and biodynamic viticulture in Champagne.
Julie is a great fan of herbs, infusions, and decoctions that she uses to treat her vineyards. The varieties grown are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. The soils consist mostly of clay and limestone.
Julie loves nature, flowers, colors and her Champagnes fully represent her with colorful, imaginative, feminine labels.
