Pierre Hugot is the descendant of a long line of winegrowers in Cramant and, after working in many important French Domaines, he returned to the family business and made important changes in vineyard management, implementing above all sustainability, organic and biodynamic practices.
In the cellar and vineyards Pierre continues to follow the teachings of his great-grandparents. In the vineyards, the use of natural products and biodynamic preparations complements sustainable practices such as, for example, late pruning and shallow plowing. In the cellar, however, aging on the lees is extended.
The goal for each vintage is to create champagnes that best express the terroir of each Cru. The Chardonnays produced are rich, pure and fully reflect the limestone soils from which they come.
