Burgundy is an incredible place, with exceptional wines and producers. A potpourri of lieux dix with diversity of terroir from one row of vineyards to another.
The Côte has very ancient origins, Jurassic period, when two contrasting forces clashed violently and created this linear hill linking Lyon and Dijon, including Chablis.
It has always been one of the most suitable areas in the world for wines of unparalleled finesse and for the richness of variety of the soil, where marine fossils from the prehistoric period can still be found.
Bourgogne is a wealth of Gran Cru and Premier Cru, the area where the most famous vineyards are concentrated are Côte d'Or which is divided into Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune.
The former is the most suitable for the production of the best reds in the world, the latter for whites.
Further south we find the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais.
Among the most important Domaine Romanée Conti, Leroy, Rousseau, Comte de Goerge de Vogue, Roumier, Coche Dury, but also many small realities to taste.
