Jura & Savoie wines

A tiny wine-growing area that is tough at first glance: the climate is an endurance test, with rainfall 220 days a year on average, long, harsh winters and hot summers: this but much more is Jura.

There are 7 Aocs in Jura: Arbois, mainly red wines, a smaller percentage of whites, Chateau-Chalon with only Vin Jaune from the Savagnin; L’Étoile mainly cultivated with Chardonnay and Savagnin, Côtes du Jura with all cultivated wines, Macvin Du Jura is vin doux natural, fermented must with added spirit; the Crémant Du Jura, classic method from grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Trousseau in at least 70%, for the Crémant rosé Pinot noir and Poulsard in at least 50%. Lastly, Marc Du Jura, a distillate from the marc of Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot noir, Poulsard and Trousseau.
