The grapes 100% Pinot blanc coming from hillside vineyards at altitude between 450 and 550 metres above sea level are particulary vocated for Pinot Blanc. The microclimate is cool with strong contrast between day and night time temperature. After pressing the grapes, the must is fermented in stainless-steel tanks at 18°C. The new wine refines on the fine lees for several months before bottling.

Colterenzio

Colterenzio Cantina

Colterenzio is located in Cornaiano, one of the several picturesque villages nestled among the vineyards in an area of cool, rolling vine-covered hills, south of Bolzano in Alto Adige, which is the most northern region of Italy. On these hills, crafted and smoothed by glaciers during the last Ice Age, Colterenzio procured the ideal location for planting its vines. The growing area includes vineyards located between 250 and 550 m above the sea level with a large spectrum of different varieties, soil compositions, micro-climate and ripening phases. Very important for the vineyards are the protection by the Alps, significant difference in day-night temperatures during the ripening phase, and consistent aeration from Lake Garda. The result are beautiful and crispy wines with Alpine fragrance and Mediterranean spice and warmth.

Since 2009 Colterenzio has been working toward being a green business: all buldings have been equipped with photovoltaic and solar panels and now the winery produces green energy supplying 55% of its total consumption and 70% of all hot water required.

Colterenzio was one of the first wine producers to champion an idea now recognized in many cellars: select the best vintners to form an elite group of quality, whose objective is the production of grapes raised for wines of excellence.

Colterenzio winery belive that quality originates in the vineyard. From planting the baby vines to harvesting the grapes by hand. The vines are cultivated according to the traditional "pergola" and the more modern Guyot training system.
