The Franciacorta is located in the heart of Lombardy, bordered to the west by the river Oglio and northeast from the last appendices of the Rhaetian Alps overlooking the shores of Lake Iseo, in an area of about 200 square kilometers that includes 19 municipalities of the Province of Brescia. Its soft hills have very ancient origins: the glaciers, retreating over 10,000 years ago, created the amphitheater in which Franciacorta was born.
