Whisky 12 Y.O. Bunnahabhain

Bunnahabhain has united man and nature in perfect harmony. Bunnahabahin in Gaelic means 'mouth of the river' and since 1883 has been producing whiskey with the help of local natural ingredients. If you stand and admire the surrounding landscape, you can smell the scent of the sea and see the sparkling light of the Sound of Islay. At the dawn of the distillery, maritime trade was the main driving force, capable of supplying raw materials and trading their products. A small village, a pier, and a lot of knowledge in distillation. The ancestors were bold and courageous, and this spirit still resonates in the distillery's warehouses today.

What sets Bunnahabhain apart is a varied style, never repetitive, and the barrels matured in the beautiful bay on the shores of the Sound of Islay. All whiskeys are not cold filtered and only show their natural color: nothing is added and nothing is taken away. This allows you to showcase the true natural character of these particular Islays.

Bunnahabhain is the only distillery on the island to use pure spring water, which seeps on lighter soils than the abundance of peat generally found on the island of Islay. Its stills are also the tallest on Islay, with unusually long swan necks, capable of producing a lighter and more delicate flavor profile. The warehouses are home to barrels of bourbon, sherry and red wine of the highest quality that allow the new make to rest near the coast, next to the Sound of Islay. Some of the warehouses even date back to 1881.
