The Selection of Malvasia 80 that Marko Fon produces comes from a vineyard in the locality of Pliskovica. The name of this vineyard is Ledina, and it is a vineyard that has always been difficult to manage. In the vineyard there are rows of Vitovska, with splendid bunches every year and bunches of good Malvasia which is rarely harvested. Marko thinks he didn't understand her in the beginning and that she now shows his hatred of him. In this 2018 vintage of rediscovered understanding, also favored by the climatic conditions, the grapes brought to the cellar were splendid and so it was decided to combine them with that of the 4 states vineyard (a real "Cru" managed by Fon). The two grapes found themselves very well together and a winning union was born.

Marko Fon

Marko fon

Komen, a tiny village in the Slovenian Karst a few kilometers from Trieste. It was here that Marko Fon began his winemaking career in 1993, after the death of his father. Just 4 hectares divided into numerous plots, with vines rarely less than 45 years old. The varieties that are grown are those indigenous to this area, namely Malvasia, Vitovska and Teran. Marko's vineyards are grassed with wild flora and are conducted without the use of herbicides, fertilizers and systemic treatments.

Marko Fon's goal is to reflect the soul of Karst in his wines.
