FZ, meaning "Out of Zone", is the 100% Nebbiolo grape version of Azienda Agricola Vaira Francesco. The clone used is Lampia.

The Lampia clone is particularly well known and renowned being the basis of the greatest Barolo.

From predominantly limestone-clay soils, vineyards have an average age of 22 years. Manual harvesting is done using 25 kg crates and selecting grapes by carefully removing any impurities.

After harvesting, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, after that grape skins are pressed under low pressure. Aging, which lasts one year, is done in new barrels, for 40% of the mass, and in exhausted barrels (for the remaining 60%).

The wine is bottled without any clarification or filtration and continues to age for an additional 6 months in the bottle.

Azienda Agricola Vaira Francesco is located in Vergne, in the area between the municipalities of Barolo, La Morra and Narzole.

The two brothers Francesco and Giacomo, founders of the winery, inherited their passion for vines and wine from their father.
The few hectares of land have a southeast and southwest exposure and they are located at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level. Their composition is characterized by the presence mainly of limestone and clay.
Francesco and Giacomo's goal is to create quality wines that, from field to bottle, find no interference with chemistry.
