Verdicchio Classico Superiore Palombare Campanelli 2022
The vineyard from which this wine derives is located in the Palombare district in Sasso di Serra San Quirico, between 330 and 370 metres above sea level. It is the area furthest WEST of the Castelli di Jesi area, close to the Apennine chain and furthest from the sea, which is why the temperature range is more pronounced.
The vineyard is made up of two contiguous bodies facing EAST/SOUTH-EAST. One was planted in 1955 and the other dates back to 1991.The soil, which rests on a subsoil of marl and sandstone, is a medium mixture of clay and limestone with the presence of sandy intercalations.
The vineyard is in the process of being converted to organic cultivation.
After harvesting, whole cluster pressing is carried out followed by static decantation and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Both fermentation and subsequent ageing are carried out in cement tanks.
Campanelli Soc. Agr. San Paolo di Jesi (AN)
"Marche people all have an ancestral bond with the history and traditions of our villages and the surrounding countryside, and our family is no exception. It is from this bond with our land that our project originates and finds inspiration, combining a passion for wine with the desire to tell the story of a territory, its people and its days, because we believe that every glass of wine should basically have a story to tell..."
Azienda Vinicola Campanelli is developed in the production territory of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. The vineyards are planted in territories that differ geographically, in terms of exposure and soil composition. This is why Francesco Campanelli has decided to exalt these differences by creating wines that enhance the peculiarities of the Cru from which the wines come. In particular: Palombare (in Sasso di Serra San Quirico), San Nicolò (in San Paolo di Jesi) and San Michele (district of Cupramontana).
