Mickaël Bourg has often been compared to the legendary Thierry Allemand, a cult producer with a large following in the north of the Rhône. In fact, Theo Allemand, his son, worked under Mickaël for a time, as his father thought it best for him to work for another superstar vigneron besides him. Starting from just half a hectare of leased vineyard, Mickaël now owns 1.5 hectares of land. While other Cornas vignerons have ventured to make wine with a fruity and powerful style, Mickaël seeks an old-time style of Syrah with sobriety, elegance and sapidity.

Cornas is a small village in the northern part of the Rhône Valley where Syrah reigns supreme over the vines. The granite soils here produce hearty and robust wines, although in the right hands they can produce wines with complexity, elegance and longevity.

Three Senses
Mickael Bourg's Cornaas opens immediately on the nose to express pleasant notes of blackberry, cherry, pepper, chocolate, as well as forest. The mouth is quite rich and dense but manages to hyperfectly describe the producer's hand with a final call of licorice and a saline note.
