The vineyard of Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenhur is called "The Pearl of the Moselle". Since the first Treaties of 1600, it has been identified as a vineyard of the highest quality. Fritz Haag owns 18 hectares of this pearl. Fritz Haag owns 7.5 hectares, with 100% of Riesling, many of which are found in the most precious part of this "lage", namely Juffer-Sonnenuhr. It was Wilhelm Haag to buy much of the "big cru" over the years. It has been producing the wines of the company since 1957, buying an extraordinary reputation especially for sweets with Botrytis. It produces wines that combine the subtlety with the depth and variety of aromas, and over time reveal all the lo-ro character. Only in 2003, at the age of 66, Wilhelm Haag decided to retire, leaving the company to his son, Oliver, who came back from the beautiful experience at Wegele Winery. Tradition is safe, cold fermentation in steel or wood, 60 hl of average yield per hectare and natural yeast use.

Fritz Haag

The Fritz Haag company is in the heart of Mittle Mosel, in Brauneberg. Already quoted in a document dated 1605 it is also called "Dusemonder Hof", from the Latin "dulcis mons", which attests the recognition of the wine vocation of the area from the time of the Romans. The name "Dusemonder Hof" was the one of the village of Brauneberg until 1925 when it was named to him, in honor of his famous  "grand cru". Perhaps because it was one of Napoleon's favorites.

Today, Fritz Haag owns 7.5 hectares, with 100% of Riesling, many of which are in the most precious part of this "lage": Juffer-Sonnenhur. The meaning of Sonnenuhr is symbolized by the sundial housed in the vineyards, but also by the soil that forms a concavity formed to receive the sun rays in every direction.

It was Wilhelm Haag to buy many of the "big cru" over the years. He  has been producing the wines of the company since 1957, gaining extraordinary fame especially for sweet wines with Botrytis. In 1995 its Juergen-Sonnenhur Beerenauslese was sold for around 4300 euros.

his wines combine finesse with the depth and a bouquet of aromas, and over the time  they reveal all their character. Only in 2003, at the age of 66, Wilhelm Haag decided to retire, leaving the company to his son Oliver, who came back from the beautiful experience at the Wegele Winery. The tradition is safe: cold fermentation in steel or wood; 60 hl of average yield per hectare; Use of natural yeasts.

The Fritz Haag vineyard is called "Brauneberger Juffer". From this valent is produced all the different wines, 12 : from the dry Riesling to the "Riesling Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Auslese Goldkapsel".
