Château Rieussec has been a leading wine in Sauternes for several generations. Classified as a Premier Grand Cru in 1855, it is made with a subtle blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle.
This precious nectar is aged for 18 to 26 months depending on the year, from 50 to 55% in new barrels. The vintage of 2018 was characterized by the coldest winter of the last 10 years, caused by a particularly harsh climate in February.
It was very rainy, with endless showers that continued throughout the spring. To find such humid conditions early in the season, one would have to go back to 2001. As a result, there was an unusually high threat of mold persisting from May to July. Such violent mold epidemics had not been seen in living memory. Fortunately, the situation improved considerably during the summer, thanks to the dry and hot climate that allowed the vineyard to be re-established and to produce excellent quality grapes.

Sulle ondulate colline della AOC, cullate dalla ottimale esposizione al sole, curate dal drenaggio naturale e nutrite dallo specifico suolo (argilloso-calcareo in profondità e ghiaioso in superficie), crescono le varietà tradizionali di uve destinate ad uno dei migliori Sauternes. Presso lo Chateau La Tour Blanche la scelta dell'uvaggio è strettamente dettata dalla tradizione, elaborata negli anni per ottenere un blend ottimale e dal gusto caratteristico. 83% Semillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc e 5% Muscadelle.
Da anni ormai dediti a minimizzare l'impatto ambientale, lo Chateau vanta ormai varie certificazioni grazie all'impegno di utilizzare al minimo le sostanze chimiche e l'utilizzo di tecniche di vinificazione biologiche.
