A vineyard to be visited for any wine enthusiast is surely Vallerana Alta in Maremma, curated by Antonio Camillo. It contains vines that have from 48 to 62 years perfectly integrated into the territory and to the microclimate. After years of research Antonio Camillo has managed to find the ideal vineyard to give a ciliegiolo with a great elegance and complexity. Easy to drink it is a wine suitable for everyone. After the manual harvest it ferments in cement for 30 days on skins with indigenous yeasts. It rests a year on the lees on big barrels and in part in tonneau. Without addition of sulfur, before bottling it is affined for another 3-5 months in cement.

Antonio Camillo is the symbol of Ciliegiolo in Maremma. After a long journey of research and comparison with many generations of winemakers in Tuscany he has finally managed to find the right vineyards to best express this native vine. Fascinating Ciliegiolo vineyard in Vallerana Alta, 60 years old and cultivated according to tradition. The hectares available are 8 for red wines, Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Grenache, and 4 for whites, Vermentino, Trebbiano, Malvasia, and Ansonica Procanico. Its wines come from the market standardization and express the essence of the territory. They are the fruit of man's attention to the custody of an old heritage of decades of healthy soils and a winemaking that respects the grape rather than bending it to an industrial logic.
