A medium clayey soil rich in stones opens like an amphitheater on the Orcia valley. Here at about 400m above sea level the Rosso di Montalcino di Sanlorenzo is born. Vinified in steel and aged on fine lees in old barrels of various liters to achieve an optimal balance.

Three Senses

The altitude, the soil, the microclimate, the respectful vinification, all combine to make the Rosso di Montalcino Sanlorenzo a particularly delicate and elegant wine, rich in a pleasant fruit and effective to hold dishes centered thanks to an important structure. Fresh aromas of ripe cherries wrapped in a slight impact of wood convey elegance and balance. The combination with red meats and cheeses is immediate.

Sanlorenzo

Sanlorenzo Winery

For Renzo, Bramante's grandfather, the meaning of his existence was the earth. Land that he gave to his nephew following the silent desire expressed in a starry night, which still today is handed down from father to son. Bramante decided to dedicate the farm to his grandfather giving him the name of Sanlorenzo. Today there are three generations that help each other in vineyard and cellar work, with an eye always on tradition, and a fresh look at research and experimentation. The lean and arid soil, rich in stones, is about 500m above sea level on the south-west side of Montalcino. The microclimate from rainfall concentrated in spring and late autumn frames the growth of Sangiovese, conveying unique hints of wine. Organic since 2012, the 4 vineyards of the farm are between 10 and 40 years old and grow on their 4.7 hectares caressed by the north breeze. Sometimes so intense that the plants seem to tell their story. In the vineyard there is always to be done, among the green pruning techniques, the selection of the bunches in August, the elimination of the leaves closest to the bunches in September and the harvest in October. Then you go to the cellar, where the attention does not fall and the times get longer. The wine is made in steel with a maceration of 20-25 days with periodic pumping over and delestage. After a decantation in the tank that eliminates the solid residues, the destination of the masses is decided, Rosso di Montalcino or Brunello di Montalcino.
