The Ciman di Elio Sandri continues in the tradition of the Langa and comes from Nebbiolo grapes from the hamlet of Perno in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba.

Since 2013 Elio has been producing this "protest" wine because in order to regulate Barolo it must age in wooden barrels, which Ciman does not do.

In fact, the fermentation of these Nebbiolo grapes takes place in steel tanks where they refine for about 48 months to be stuffed a few years later.

A true Langa alternative.

Elio Sandri

Cascina Disa in Monforte d'Alba at the beginning of the XV Century was a settlement of Monks of the Abbey of Breme, in the area of Pavia, who already at that time used to produce wine in the Langhe area, following the rules of tradition.

Since 1965 it is the centre of the Agricultural Agency Giovanni Sandri, that continues the long used traditional wine-growing method of this land.

From his fields used for Barolo they get the more typical wines, result of the serious dedication to the cultivation of the vine and the rigorous respect to the traditional methods of wine-making. Today Cascina Disa is a place to discover the perfumes of good wines of the Langhe.
