Chablis Garnier 2023
The soils of Maligny, Ligny, and Villy make up, in order of importance, the blend of this Chablis, with each village contributing its own distinctive character.
The harvest takes place later than average to ensure full ripeness of the grapes.
The marly soils of the area impart a distinct saline minerality to the wines produced by the Garnier brothers.
This, their classic Chablis, is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for eleven months.
Domaine Garnier & Fils
Domaine Garnier is based in Ligny-le-Châtel. The estate has existed for several years, but it was only with the generation of brothers Xavier and Jérôme that the winery began bottling and producing its own wines. The first vintage dates back to 1996.
Driven by their passion for wine and their commitment to sustainable farming, the brothers cultivate about 25 hectares of vineyards located in Chablis and the surrounding communes. Jérôme manages the vineyards, while Xavier is in charge of winemaking. Together, they lead a group of new-generation producers who are finding their voice in the northernmost part of Chablis.
The vineyards are farmed organically, and fermentation occurs with natural yeasts before the wines are aged in a mix of large oak barrels and stainless steel tanks.
