The Dos Tierras di Badalucco wine from La Iglesia Garcia represents the realization of the thoughts of Pierpaolo and Beatriz, the two souls coming from different places who meet and give concreteness to what was initially experimental. The enveloping nature of Nero d'Avola blends into a single wine with the tactile structure of Tempranillo. The vineyard from which the grapes come is located in Contrada Delia Nivolelli, a small plot of land overlooking the sea. The harvested grapes macerate for twenty days with their skins, after which a light pressing with the feet allows the fermentation to be activated. The aging takes place in wood. The wine is not filtered or clarified.

Three Senses
Dos Tierras has an intense ruby red color, but with a rim that shines with brightness. On the nose it offers sweet aromas of dates, a touch of red and more acidic berries to conclude with a Sicilian orange peel. On the palate the tannicity is useful for eliminating the layer of matter, an evident salinity accompanies the sip in the mouth. Wine in a rare completeness, at the same time intrusive and subtle.

Badalucco de la Iglesia Garcia

Winery Badalucco de la Iglesia Garcia

Badalucco de la Iglesia Garcia is a name that one wonders about first of all because of its origin. In fact, to describe this winery we must start by placing the pointer on Sicily and precisely between Mazara del Vallo and Marsala. Pierpaolo Badalucco was born in this territory, the last of a generation of workers in close contact with the land. Precisely on these Red Lands the vine, thanks also to the proximity of the sea, finds fertile soil.

When Pierpaolo meets Beatriz in her home region of Andalusia, he also finds many similarities with the vineyards in the Jerez area. With great tenacity and passion he convinced Beatriz de La Iglesia Garcia to move to Sicily and continue to safeguard the family genetic heritage, enriching it with two Spanish vines, Tempranillo and Verdejo, thus creating a synergy between Italy and Spain. This also explains why their company is called Dos Tierras.
